What a great evening!
Lots of new members enjoyed Club Night Challenge for the first time, along with some "old hands" revelling in the new format. The change to a round robin format has definitely improved the event, with court turn-around faster than ever! Even with the "better than expected" turn out, nobody was left "cold" with everyone playing a minimum of 4 matches and a lucky few playing in semi finals and a final. 24 competitors fought it out in 5 groups of roughly evenly matched standards, each aiming for the highest avearge score from their matches. The top four players, Ingo Kelling, Andrew Mulvey (no fix, honest!), Mark Delhoy and Tony Wilson somehow found the energy to play semi finals and a final, resulting in our first victory of the series.
A prize and light meter vouchers were awarded to the winner........will it be you next time?
Don't forget, this is a series! There is a cup to be won at the end!
