Nine-Nil On-Line League SystemNew "On-Line" League System & Members' Computer with Free Internet Access

The new league (May / June) is up and as you know, we are introducing a fantastic new "On-Line" league system .
For those of you who play in the Herts Club Leagues you may be familiar with it already as it is provided by the same company. As soon as you play your matches, please use the new club computer (by the bar behind court 5) to enter your scores straight in.

Why Change?

New leagues will now be available sooner each month

Members can now:

  • See up to date scores / matches played, simply by looking on our web-site
  • Add match results on the website themselves (optional)
  • See members contact details displayed (inc email addresses)
  • See how they are performing over the course of the year

Do you have to use it "On-Line"?

No!    It's optional.
If you want to keep using the current system, then that's fine, as we will still place the leagues up on the board for you to add your scores to each month.

However, if you would prefer to enter your scores yourself on line, then it'll take you just a few seconds to do and will help to ensure that we don't get them wrong when we add any that have not been entered by members at the end of the month. Then at any point in that month, you can see how you're doing in your league.

Members' Computer with Free Internet Access

We've even provided a computer with free internet access for members to use (upstairs behind court five) on which you can enter your scores. Please feel free to use it for your email and web surfing.

Scoring

We will retain the same scoring system as we have now, however, you need only record the actual number of games you won, the system will add the extra points for matches played and won itself. So for a 3-0 win, you will now enter 3-0.

For ease of use, as the screen scrolls vertically, the left and right league boxes have been named "A" & "B", however, they retain the same League rank as before, neither is higher than the other.

Requests to be added to or removed from the leagues

To be added or removed, please email your request to: Karen Selby
Or alternatively, write it on the board as before.

Failure to play any matches

If you play no matches during a league month (or 6 weeks in summer), you will automatically be removed from the next league cycle unless we receive a request from you to be kept in (and relegated).

How do you use it?

We are pleased to confirm that as from 1st July 2010 Andrew Mulvey has officially been appointed the club’s new manager, having taken over the position from Karen Selby.

Although this is a complete change of direction for him (having worked for the same Investment Management Company for the past 23 years turning his hand to many different tasks along the way), in his “spare time” he has been very actively involved in the squash world.
