Yet another cold and snowy Sunday night (10th Jan) didn’t deter a number of enthusiastic ‘Club Nighters’ who ventured to the club to compete in the latest round of this seasons Club Night Challenge.
Over the past 3 rounds, a total of 37 players have now added their names to the cumulative leader board. On this night however, the players from the ranked group stages who made it through to the handicapped semi finals were Jake Byrne, Mark Mallison, Andrew Cooke and Robbie Duval…..
With names then pulled out of a hat (well a hand actually!), the matches were scheduled for Jake -v- Mark and Andrew -v- Robbie.
The players, who all seemed very tired by this stage, were then narrowed down to two who competed in the final. Here, Jake showed his determination to get his name on the CNC trophy by overcoming Robbie to win the evening’s event despite being given a tough handicap by the organisers (next time it will therefore be even tougher if he gets through again!!!).
With 2 more challenges remaining, the latest overall positions at the top of the leader board are as follows:t;/span>
1st - Jake Byrne (690 points)
2nd - Ingo Kelling (530 points)
3rd - Jeff McBroom (450 points)
4th - Andy Morris (390 points)
