Bishops Stortford Squash Club – New Manager

E-mail Print

Andrew MulveyWe are pleased to confirm that as from 1st July 2010 Andrew Mulvey has officially been appointed the club’s new manager, having taken over the position from Karen Selby.

Although this is a complete change of direction for him (having worked for the same Investment Management Company for the past 23 years turning his hand to many different tasks along the way), in his “spare time” he has been very actively involved in the squash world.

Since his son Nick got drawn into the sport 6 years ago and daughter Hannah 4 years ago, it has been quite difficult to recognise where home lies - several members believe the Mulveys may actually sleep in the boiler cupboard at the Silver Leys club site!

Apart from “doing the England Squash circuit” with the children Andrew has also been a player and a committee member for over 4 years at the club, has co-captained the men’s second team in the Essex league and has spent over 2 years as treasurer on the County junior committee. He has also been a voluntary organiser at many of the junior tournaments that have been held at the club and assisted Mark Mallison in keeping the website (www.stortfordsquash.co.uk) up to speed as well as running the ever popular Club Night Challenge events.

Ideas, thoughts and comments that people have about the club are always welcome, so please do share them with him. Finally, may we take this opportunity to wish him every success in his new role!

On-Line League System will be the only score that counts from Oct 1st!

As you will hopefully be aware, we have now been running the leagues On-Line since June 2009 and it has proved to be extremely successful, with a large proportion of members now entering their scores on-line as well as on the main board in the club.
