Sport Relief
Over 900 runners took part in the Sport Relief runs at Silver Leys, raising in excess of £20K for the charity, well done to all those from the club who took part, especially our valiant ‘Magnificent Seven’ who thrashed the Rugby Club in the 6 mile challenge:
Matt Cutchey 38.50
Tim Dixon 44.10
Nick Mulvey 44.42
John McFarlane 46.43 (Claims he would have done better had he not consumed so many pints of Stella the night before!!)
Matt Delaney 47.07
Gavin Noffki 49.35
Jake Byrne 52.31
Squash A Mile
Many thanks to those who attempted the mile on a squash court – 165 lengths, it was far more difficult than most participants had expected.
The clear winner was Matt Cutchey’s with an impressive time of 8 mins 9 sec, in joint second place Jake Byrne and Andrew Dobbs with the same time of 9 mins 1 sec. A special well done to Christian Benfield (aged 11) who ran half a mile on court in 4 mins 41 sec.
Matt wins £50 of court lights which will help with his training for the forthcoming London Marathon, Matt will be running for St. Clare’s Hospice
