Tom Elton Barratt

This year’s Tom Elton Barratt Championships attracted a record number of entrants with over 120 juniors taking part. Tom’s family were present throughout the weekend and were impressed with the standard of play and delighted with the success of the tournament. As you may have read in The Observer several Stortford members featured in the event with Tim Dixon taking the TEB title after a top quality match with Nick Mulvey. Alastair Booth was runner up in the under 19’s boys whilst Brogan Lane was runner up in the U17’s girls. Natasha Drake was 4th in the under 15’s girls, Hannah Mulvey finished 5th in the U13’s girls and Matthew Griffith 4th in the U11’s boys. Our next major tournament will be the Herts Junior Open which will run over the Easter weekend. Entry forms will be available shortly.

Junior Morning - Registration

Please, please, please can you ensure your son or daughter signs in on the register on the bar at the start of their session every week, two sessions ago there were 12 juniors on court who had not registered. As a matter of safety it really is important that we know who is on the premises and the register is our record of attendees that day for use in case of an emergency, so please try to help us to keep your children safe.

Herts Leagues

At the half way stage, our Herts League teams maintained their lead of their relative divisions with wins over Radlett and Harpenden for the under 11’s and Gosling and Broxbourne for the under 19’s. Good luck boys for the second half; let’s hope the winning streak continues!

On-Line League System will be the only score that counts from Oct 1st!

As you will hopefully be aware, we have now been running the leagues On-Line since June 2009 and it has proved to be extremely successful, with a large proportion of members now entering their scores on-line as well as on the main board in the club.
