League Walk-Overs

E-mail Print

k-timms-hccHere at Bishops Stortford Squash Club we actively encourage all our members to participate in the leagues as they are not just a source of great matches, but also of social connections, especially for our newer members of whom we have had so many in recent months. However, we've seen a recent trend for players requesting to join the leagues and then not playing any matches during the course of the month without giving any reason for doing so.

This practice is rather unfair to those players who do want to play as it holds them back from progressing.   Therefore, to support those players who do want to play, from now on we will automatically remove any players from the leagues who fail to play at least one of their matches during each league if they have failed to give a reason to the club manager & other players in their league.

If you know you will be unable to play, please have the courtesy to contact the club manager and to write it on the leagues on the main board for your fellow league members to see, including if you wish to be added back in for the following month. Ideally, you should also contact those players to let them know you will be unable to play.

Walk-Overs

If you have made every attempt to contact a player and they have either not replied or have agreed a date and then failed to play, please be sure to record this as a Walk-Over (W3 on the On-line system) if there is no possibility of the match being played before the end of the league. This will ensure you are not removed from the league for not playing your games.

Once again, we must stress that we are only taking this action to support all of our members that genuinely do want to play their matches in the leagues and to ensure the leagues remain as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

Your support is greatly appreciated, many thanks.

The BIGGEST event of the year here so far in the East is coming - The England Squash Junior Regional Closed Championships 2010

This year’s extravaganza will be held on 11th & 12th September 2010 at Bishop’s Stortford Squash Club and will be run completely by England Squash regional office staff.

NEW to this year’s event will be the inclusion of the under 19’s, allowing those who may have thought they would miss out due to age, to try their hand again.
