Local players Kath Kemp, John Goodfellow, Jabe Hewer, Nick Sheppard and Graham Evans all took the fight to our neighbours over in Essex as they battled for the crown of Essex Closed Champions last week.
The Essex closed was held at Kingswood, Basildon over the weekend of 16th/17th January involving several Bishops Stortford club members. Kath Kemp was number 1 seed in the Ladies O50's and didn't disappoint by beating Averil Murphy (a former world masters champion and past closed winner) in the final 3-1. John Goodfellow and Graham Evans both won their early rounds to reach quarter final stage. Well done everyone and congratulations Kath!
