Bishops Stortford Squash Club is a General Members Club where all profits and proceeds are ploughed back into the Club for the benefit of the members. It was founded in 1950 and is now administered by a Committee who meet as a full committee ever quarter, with the officers meeting on average every six weeks to look after the Club’s affairs and plan for the future.

The Committee

The committee is made up of members & officials who provide both guidance and personal time to the club to assist in the day to day running and decison making processes. Below you will find a full list of its members and a little bit of history about each of them:

	Club Chairman	Dave Sciberras	Dave joined the club in 1986 having never played squash before.  After a handful of lessons from so-called friends where he almost gave up trying to actually hit the ball, Andrew Reeve took him under his wing and taught him all the elements that now grace his deceptively slow game.  He has both played for and captained various club teams and can still hold his own in the P division when fit.  Dave is a level 2 coach and ran junior morning for many years until recently.  He has also qualified as a County grade referee and has occasionally helped at England Squash tournaments.  He was elected to the club committee in 1998 and has been chairman for the last 9 years.
	Club Secretary / Vice Chairman	Kevin Dunn	Kevin is one of the club's longest standing members and has been playing since the ball was invented. A keen advocate of doubles and racketball, it is rare to find Kevin not at the club on most days.
	Club Manager	Andrew Mulvey	Andrew started playing squash regularly in 2004 when he joined BSSC. As a reward (!) for encouraging his children to play, he now often travels the country attending England Squash junior events throughout the year. He has been a general committee member since Sept 2006 and for two seasons he co-captained the Men’s second team in the Essex league. Andrew frequently assists with the organisation of tournaments at the Club and with Mark Mallison, helps to maintain the Club’s website. In July 2009 he became a ‘level 1’ coach and in July 2010 became the Club's Manager.
	Club Captain	Nick Ridgway	Nick joined the club way back in 1978 but became an official member in 1980. There was a waiting list in those days! He has played for every team we have ever had (Men’s of course), has been Club Captain for over 15 years and on the committee since Dinosaurs roamed the earth! (sic) When he dies he wants his ashes spread on court 1. WITH DAVE SCIB’S! On a more serious side, Nick is also a ‘T’ (Tournament) grade Referee and hopes to achieve his ‘N’ (National) grade this year.
	General Member	Alastair Ambrose	Alastair joined as a Junior aged 15 and has been playing regular first team squash (injuries permitting) for almost 20 years, the last five of which as Captain. He is an ES (England Squash) level 3 coach as well as a qualified marker/referee. Alastair has been a committe member since 2004 and he famously sponsored the victorious 2006 Stortford National Club team who were also European R/U.
