This tournament was born over 20 years ago in memory of Tom, a top junior player at Bishop’s Stortford Squash Club who tragically died in 1983. His family always attend the event and are constantly impressed by the quality of play and the sportsmanship of the players, hence why four years ago a new award was introduced – the most sporting competitor to play in the event. This is awarded to the player who displays good manners on court, helps refereeing matches and all round sportsmanlike behaviour. Last year it was won by James Grimston from Hertfordshire.
